Residencies
Holly has done residencies in settings from the Federal Penitentiary at
Walla Walla, with maximum-security prisoners, to a variety of community
centers and group homes with populations with special needs. With the very
special artists of Seattle’s Artists Unlimited, she created the soundtrack
of an award-winning video, Sometimes the Metro Bus Doesn’t Stop For
Me, shown on PBS under the title of Against the Odds.
Residencies lead Holly to a greater interest in teaching. In 1992, she
earned her K-12 teaching certificate and a Master in Teaching Degree from
The Evergreen State College. After teaching two years of performing arts
on the elementary level and a year of senior English and Drama in high
school, Holly now remains connected to public education through substitute
teaching.
